Here is a sweet 2008 Gibson SG 61 Reissue. It is finished in Heritage Cherry finish over a killer striped mahogany body. The stripes on the body are amazing and I haven't seen an SG with stripes in the wood like this before, it's beautiful. I have owned this guitar since 2011, I bought it from the original owner, who played it once or twice and kept it in its case in the closet. It has never been gigged and has lived in a smoke free home. The pickups have been swapped out for vintage Guild HB-1 pickups, both made in the early 70s. They sound amazing and are a huge improvement over the stock Gibson 57s Classics. A friend who is a luthier and co-owner of a guitar company (look up offset guitars made in Des Moines, IA, that's his company) tried it out after I swapped the pickups out and said it was the best sounding SG he'd ever played. These are the pickups that would have been in a 70s Guild S-100 (Guild's SG) Kim Thayil's favorite. His shop also installed a bone nut on this guitar and set it up with 11 gauge strings. I replaced the pick guard and control cover with black anodized aluminum pieces from Tone Guard. The guitar is in very good condition with signs of normal play wear. There is pick swirling and a few small nicks on the the body. There is one spot of chipped finish on the bottom of the guitar (pictured). Normal stuff for a 9 year old guitar that has been played and loved. The imperfections are small and cosmetic only, nothing structural and nothing that would inhibit playability. Frets are in great shape, pots do not scratch when turned, action is nice, there are no issues. This is a guitar that feels great in your hand and sounds incredible. The original Gibson hard shell case is included, also in very good condition with no issues.
