I'm selling my beloved Sonor Lite drum set, which has served me well over many years. The drums were made in Germany in the 1980s, and they are in fantastic condition. Further, all the shells are made from Sonor's rare choice Scandinavian birch; Sonor proudly touts that Scandinavian birch is also used in the production of aircraft. The particular wood makes the shells close to half as light as others of their size. The snare drum and bass drum are 12-ply and measure 7 mm; the tom toms and floor toms are 9-ply and measure 6 mm (Sonormuseum.com).The drums (all except the floor tom) are being sold individually. Please see my eBay page for more info.Drum sizes (and Sonor catalog numbers. All are "GL," for Graphite Lacquer)
Snare (LD 557): 14" x 7.25" (with "parallel snare action" throw-off)
Tom toms: 12" x 10" (LT 12) and 13" x 11" (LT 13)
Bass drum: 22" x 17" (LG 22)Most of the toms have Evans EC1 batter heads and Evans Genera G1 resonant heads; the 12" tom has a Remo Weatherking as its batter head. The bass drum currently has a pretty fresh Evans EMAD batter head, as well as the stock resonant head. The snare is decked out with an Evans EC Reverse Dot batter head and an Evans Snare Side Hazy 300 resonant head. (The snare heads could use replacing.) Not pictured is the relevant hardware, all of which I have: tom mount (and its appendages) that enters via the top of the bass drum. These are truly remarkable drums, and I'm sad to see them go. They have been with me on a number of great recording sessions and countless gigs. Sonor Lites are the real deal; snatch them while you can!I would supply a link to a page on the "Unofficial Sonor Museum" website that contains a lot of information about the Sonor Lite series, but eBay no longer allows links in product descriptions. It can easily be found by searching "sonor lite" on Google. The page should be the first result.
