5 way switching, compensated brass saddles, no load tone pot, Foto Flame. This is a beautiful instrument aesthetically, tonally, and in playability. T serial number dates it 94 - 95 from Japan. Japanese Fenders have a reputation for great quality and this is no exception. Everything is in good working condition, ready to plug in and play! The 5 way pickup switch is wired as follows:NeckNeck + Bridge in seriesNeck + Bridge in parallelNeck + Bridge out of phaseBridgeTone knob has a no load setting when turned all the way up to take it out of the signal chain so the pickup signal comes straight through. Compensated brass saddles make the intonation way more accurate up and down the neck on all strings. All the good traditional Tele tones with some extra very usable options due to the 5 way switching. The additional series setting makes the 2 pickups act like one big meaty humbucker with a noticeable boost in gain. The out of phase sound is fantastic for funk or some old school blues sounds. A very versatile and well built guitar with extremely minimal wear.Speaking of that, there are a few small indentations on the top of the body. I tried to get them to show up in the pictures but they are hard to capture. Can only see them when light reflects at an angle off the surface. That's about the only wear I can see on this 20+ year old instrument. The fretboard has been oiled repeatedly to keep it in great condition. It's been only played at home and kept in its case when not being used. I've been the owner for the past 10 years. This is the Foto Flame finish, not a real flamed maple neck or cap on the body. How it's been explained to me is a thin film is placed over the wood and then the finish is applied, giving the wood that appearance. I've looked closely at it and honestly can't tell it's not real flamed maple, but I'm not a wood expert. Research tells me it's an alder body with a basswood cap to attach the Foto Flame to. I got a lot of useful information from this website: xhefriguitars.Guitar is 7.4 pounds on my bathroom scale (sorry, that's all I have right now). If it doesn't sell at the current price or really darn close, I think I'll keep her. wouldn't be worth parting with.Shipping to the lower 48 States. Guitar stand not included. Thanks for looking!
