NOTE this is also for sale locally on Los Angeles C L cheaper, if it
does sell there i will take down this ad.I have a 2013 limited run Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Birdseye
here. It's one amazing guitar, i am gonna give you a run down on it
and also post the specs of it below. The color is heritage cherry.
Which on this birdseye model takes on a bit more complexity than it
does on a plain maple top. I find that the guitar looks different
under certain light conditions. The pics portray that as well. It
looks absolutely stunning when it you have a clear illumination to
really see the top. The back is also a deep rich red color. To know this guitar, you also need to know what it is not. It bears
the name Standard but it is really a guitar all of it's own and
differs from the LP standard. It is not chambered like a modern Lp
standard. It has the traditional weight relief which is affectionately
known as " Swiss cheese" . This takes about a pound or so of weight
off the guitar but it leaves the solid body tone intact. Many people
are not fond of chambered guitars. They have a bit more airyness to
their tone But they lose something in the lower mids and bass. Upon
doing this it his split the production Gibson's into Standards and
Traditionals, with the Trads bearing the non chambered bodies. This does have the compound radiused neck and the more playable
fretboard that the Standard has, which is advantageous. Now the other
"factor" to these guitars is one that is debated and not readily
disclosed in the specs. I will give you my observations on this.If all that this has over a Standard and Traditional is a birdseye
maple top, then it really should not justify such a higher price point
on it's original MSRP. The 2016 models are retailing for 3999$.
Birdseye is a gorgeous exotic wood. But it is not really rare per say.
Not like Brazilian Rosewood is.So some ( usually those who have not owned one) will say that it's
basically collector value and Gibson will overprice several "premium"
or special run guitars for those that can afford them.In my recent years of buying and selling guitars i have found there is
another factor and it comes down to quality bracketing. I first
observed this in the F brand single coil guitars. Their american
Standard series were good guitars. But their artist models, and
american Deluxe models absolutely smoked the Standards in tone,
resonance, sustain and just overall felt like a better instrument.
When you look at the specs you are mostly seeing different
electronics, locking tuners, and a better hard case. What you are not
seeing is that these are lower circulation instruments that they use
their better quality wood on. And that the higher circulation
instruments that they make a ton of are made of good, but not premium
or excellent wood. I suspect that is the case with Gibson as i have
had some Lp standards from different era's that fell short in tone and
feel compared to this one.I can only tell you what my ears tell me. My time with this guitar i
have found that is has a very fine tone, it has a very large sound
stage to it. Not loudness, it is more that it sounds spacious and
huge. Not compressed, open. It has a factor to it that i find very
important and that is a Treble sound that is clear, and detailed but
not harsh. Burstbucker pickups to my ear are bright pickups, i usually
change out to Bare knuckles which have a smoothed over complex upper
range to them. This guitar even with those pups allows me to use my
bright marshall amps, turn the treble up a bit on the amp, and gain
play for a good hour or two and not get any listening fatigue or hear
any harshness out of the amp. It has great sustain, full low's and
midrange crunch to it. That is pretty much something all Les Pauls
have. What i hear with this one is it really get's the highs perfect.
Sweet and singing and detailed with no muddiness and not overbalanced
by the heavy mids and lows that LP's are known for.See the pics for condition. This has had about 30 hours of playtime.
And i will continue to play it ( Gently :D ) while it sells. It
belonged to  a true Gibson aficionado who frequently migrates from
different Les Pauls. Also the guitar was not bought in 2013, it was a
NOS guitar for about 2 years before he bought it. That is sometimes
the case with limited run's as they are expensive and do not sell
fast. So it was stored new, i also have it's original factory shipping
box to go along with the hard case. The manual, truss rod wrench,
warranty paper, and signed Gibson checklist as well. It's in beautiful
condition. The setup is set how most modern Gibson's are setup. That is with a
moderately low action and a very slinky easy to play string tension.
It is setup with 10s. Some players may want a bit more torque and
resistance out of their setup with a higher bridge and a lower
stoptail piece. As it is now plays effortlessly and easy. I do not do
my own setups so this one remains stock. So that's the story on this one. Thank you for reading this far. It's
a beautiful guitar with a very distinct look. And it is gonna be the
holy grail for someone.Ships via Fedex, insured and fast. Guitar will be in it's hard case,
case will be in the original shipping box, with some extra shock
absorbers in the box.   SPECS* Weight is 8.9 lbs
