Orignal Jimi Hendrix Octavia Effects Box Handmade for Hammond B3 organist Jerry Guida By Roger Mayer.Up for sale is a little piece of history from the Jimi Hendrix era circa 1969-1970. If you are a Hendrix fanatic then you will want this. It's a one of a kind piece, there is no other like it in existence. It was hand made by Roger Mayer, the inventor of the octvia pedal that was so integral to Jimi's sound, and made at the personal request of Jimi Hendrix, who was working on his new album at Electric Ladyland Studios. It was designed specifically for the Hammond B3 organ because at that time Jimi was experimenting with the sound of his band. Jerry Guida was his organ player and spent more than a year with Jimi working on new material before Jimi's tragic and untimely death. Jerry is one of the last surviving musicians from that inner circle. Jerry went on to play exclusively for Buddy Miles, Nole Reading, and Percy Sledge. It can also be used with bass guitar or keyboards. Inside the box is the octavia circuitry exactly the same as Jimi's famous octavia pedal. There are some extra filters and oscillators added for organ. Some components, however, were never completely hooked up, such as the compressor section. The most important part, the octavia section, is what works 100%. This box is a working collector's piece.
