1992 Patrick Eggle Berlin DeluxeSerial # BDLX-7-92-1128This is a simply stunning example, from the first year of production, of this iconic British electric guitar model. It plays and sounds incredible, even more so than one could imagine. It's one of those very rare guitars that just feels "right" as soon as you pick it up.The "Red Hot" tiger stripe/flame maple top dances in the light, has a real depth and unbelievable contrast. The body and neck are mahogany, with an ebony fretboard and real abalone mother of pearl inlays, including two beautiful leaves at the 12th fret. The original Wilkinson tremolo system is in place, holds tune perfectly and the bar is a pleasure to use. It's setup with 3 trem springs and the optional further 2 springs are included. The original gold Sperzel USA locking tuners are included and function perfectly.A Seymour Duncan Perpetual Burn pickup takes the bridge position. This is the Jason Becker signature model and the original box is included. A DiMarzio Evolution 2 fills the neck position. This is the Steve Vai signature model. These two pickups compliment both each other and the guitar itself perfectly. On full amp gain and guitar volume they both sear through mixes with incredible precision and bite. Back everything off and they clean up with a beautiful warmth and clarity.Custom Plates - a handmade truss rod cover and control cavity plate, both from rosewood, are included, as well as a blank rosewood veneer to make the trem cavity cover to match. The original 1992 matching parts are all included.Vol/Tone knobs - I prefer the look and use of the matt black models, although the original Gibson style pair and an unused pair of metallic gold ones are also included. The original Patrick Eggle hard case is also included.Overall condition is excellent, given the instrument is now 25 years young. There is one ding on the rear back edge, and several very minor lacquer marks. The neck is in excellent condition and feels great to the hand.PAYMENT & DELIVERYFor obvious reasons I would prefer the buyer to collect in person. Pound notes over PayPal is fine in this scenario. This is a virtually one of a kind instrument and will only increase in value and rarity. It makes sense for the buyer to see, feel and check the guitar in the flesh.I am happy to discuss meeting halfway or partway should the buyer be a considerable distance away. However, if this is not possible I am willing to post via fully insured trade courier. There is no public facing tracking with this option, although the benefit of full insurance is clear.Reason for sale? Not that I have to justify it, but it's with a very heavy heart I'm putting this up. It was the model I spent my teens (the 90's) staring at in guitar magazines, wishing I could afford. However I very rarely play guitar at all these days, and given I also have a battered 1993 Eggle Berlin that means much more to me sentimentally, it's time for this to move on to a new owner.
