For sale is a real tone machine, a Victoria 45410-T tweed bassman. To the best of my vision, it is serial #00028, making it a very early version for what it's worth. Plays beautifully, but I need to give it a new home. I play much smaller rooms these days, and rarely get to air it out. My "need for tweed" may have to downgrade to 15-20 watts vs 45! So if you are here you know that Mark Baird of Victoria amps makes some of the best tweed clones out there! See his website for all details, but a key component to the warth and magic of this amp are the aged caps that are used in the build. It helps give the amp that rich, swirly overdrive and warm cleans that few new production amps could give you.The amp chassis and components are all original / stock. The cabinet is original as well. The additions are as follows.the tweed was finished with a light coat of nitro lacquer. Adds to the visual "mojo". The birch ply baffle was replaced by a period correct pine ply baffle at 5/16", made by Larry Rodger's of Rodger's amps. The thinner pine ply allows more flex, making the cabinet and baffle work as "one". The pine also helps deliver a warmer / rounder tone, and takes the harsh edge off of upper mids and highs. The speakers are as follows. Two stock eminence blue Frame 10" 20'watt speakers, paper formers and rounded felt dust caps. The other two were reconed eminence blue Frame (by speaker pros, formally Orange County speakers) with the same cone as eminence blue Frame , but with paper formers and flat felt dust caps. The combo of flat felt and and domed caps gives you a blend of warmth and crisp highs and mids that I love. These speakers replaced a quad of Italian Jensen..yuck!the tubes are a grove tube 5ar4 rec, two svletlana winged C 6L6GC, the best 6L6 you can get. Two re issue genelex 12ax7, and one re issue tung sol 12ax7, that is a bit lower gain like a 5751there is a "ding" on the back panels. Do not know how it happened, but zero effects on amp.i purchased this amp used from Peter Florence, owner of Voodoo pickups in eastern PA. He had it for quite a while, and I believe he bought it from a touring blues player. I don't recall who, but I don't believe it was anyone famous. I am not using that as a selling point, just informing.please get back with other questions. Thanks
