For Sell is a beautiful 1890 George C. Dobson Victor 5 string banjo. It was made in Boston, Massachusetts. There is a trademark - Victor, Pat'd March 4, 1884 inside the banjo. The black plate was added on in the early 1900's. The name Jesse Busse, Decantur, Nebraska, Oct. 3, 1925 (which is probably the year the back plate was put on). The inlaid abalone is still in very good condition. The wood on the neck and head of banjo show some age, however good considering this banjo is over 127 years old. There is no handle on the case, otherwise case in good shape considering age. I was unable to get this banjo turned as the neck is slightly warped (not visable by site). It does play. Also included are two strings and 3 picks. Would make a great conversation piece hanging on you wall, or just fun to strum.
