Since sales began in 1960, Hummingbird has become popular as J-45 and Gibson's leading acoustic guitar. The impression of pickguard with hummingbirds is intense, it is a popular model with the looks most like Gibson! Individuals of cheap early 70's arrived this time!
Spruce TOP, Mahogany SIDE & BACK, Mahogany 3 Piece NECK, Rosewood Fingerboard & Bridge, Measured 43.3 mm Nut, 25.5 in. Scale 16 inch Square Shoulder. In the 70's Gibson it is easy to think that the Gibson in this age does not sound because the bracing is a double X bracing structure because the bracing becomes a double X bracing structure and the bass sounds a bit less and the rough feeling like Gibson seems to hide a little shadow but never such a thing there is no. Sound balance and sound quality are different from those before the 60's, I think that the only thing I like or dislike, but there are also many people who do not like to eat, it is the age receiving unfair treatment (laugh)
The sound has no habit, the impression that it comes out smoothly. There is not a sense of attack that comes in like the 60's, but instead there is sustain. If you scratch with a flat pick, there is also a feeling that it goes wrong as it is. However, compared with Gibson before the 60 's overall, I feel that there is no habit and the sound comes out normally, so I think that it is avoided from core Gibson fans. Personally I think that it is quite a good sound to do folk songs and song things back, but ...
The condition of the musical instrument is out of date (lol) There are multiple cracks on the top and it is being repaired. There are 2 cracks of about 10 cm at the side of the 6th string side finger board, about 8 cm of crack at the side of the 1st string side bridge, about 9 cm of cracks beside it, with crack of about 5 cm under the bridge. Crack-like streaks can be seen also on the 6th string side bridge, but this seems not broken down to the bottom. Each crack is adhered, and reinforcing trees are applied from the back, there are places which are not applied, but the bonding itself seems to be solid. Also, the pick guard is slightly shrunk, there are parts where the wood part is exposed a little. Others are SIDE & BACK, neck etc. It is moderate weather check and fine scratches etc, but I think that there are no places to worry about collecting.
Neck condition is good, current string height is on the 12 frets on the 6th string side 2.5mm, 1st string side about 2.0mm is the best setting. Saddle also has a little more room. Although frets are rubbed together and it is considerably low, Gibson of this period originally has low frets, so the height of about 60% of the original seems to remain.
L.R.Baggs element PU is installed afterwards, it is one of immediate fighting force for live and recording!
In the 70's Gibson with a withered taste that is completely different from things in recent years! Please try by all means!
