I won the ability to purchase this item in the lottery for the second batch from Pantheon Steel, back in 2011. Since then, I have enjoyed playing this wonderful instrument, always taking care that it be kept out of extreme cold, heat, or humidity. I have never smoked near it, nor eaten while playing. I also was diligent to wipe the instrument down after playing. I have never traveled with this instrument, nor dropped it. I have also never played the instrument while wearing a ring or wrist-watch. Ever since the community started recommending "Frog Lube" as a protectant, I have used those wipes. Even so, there are a few specks of rust (see pictures), which is to be expected frankly, but I have watched and monitored them closely; they are not spreading or growing. Upon listening to recordings, the instrument does not seem to be out of tune at all, as I have not played it aggressively. No one has ever tuned it, either.I have absolutely loved and cared for this instrument, but it is time to give it a new home. This instrument was meant to be played, and I feel guilty leaving it in the case so often. I also believe this is the appropriate time for it to find a new owner-musician, especially with Jim's recent passing. I am not surprised that Kyle chose to use the Golden Gate tuning for "the last original Halo", as per his email on 12/13/16.  It is hard to tell from Kyle's email whether or not these instruments will ever be made again, so I hope this goes to a serious buyer.
From Pantheon's original description:Golden Gate
(C) E G B C D F# GA wistful major, filled with golden light and the yearning of two major seventh chords. The low E on the tone circle acts as a second tonal center, allowing modulation from E minor to C major. The name was inspired by the heartbreaking site of fog spilling down a pastel hill like an ocean wave in San Francisco, bright white on top, but moody and mysterious underneath. This is a wonderful instrument, and I am a happy to have owned one.
