Beautiful classical guitar Hand made by Cardiff Luthier Don Tatem, who is usually associated with violins and violas. This guitar is no 27 of only 80 that Don produced between 1970 and 1978 and this particular instrument was made in 1972. The woods used are: main body: E.Indian rosewood, belly: Alpine Spruce, fingerboard: ebony, neck: Honduras Cedar.it has a 26 “ scale  can supply provenance to this guitar as I have been in touch with Mr. Tatem who has confirmed that it is one of his builds and the materials it was made from. This guitar is in beautiful condition and has a lovely tone to it. It also comes with a perfectly fitting hard case.I have had it valued in various places in the £1,400 range but am willing to accept offers around £950.Reluctant sale, but I find that I am not making best use of this beautiful instrument and would like it to go to someone who would really appreciate it and make good use of it.The guitar hand built by luthier don Tatum was built to classic sizes as set out by Antonio De Torres (1817-1892) and has been the standard for high end classical guitars since then
However Mr. Tatum followed the trend of 20th century luthiers and set the scale length to 26”
this was and still is done to increase volume.
Guitar lower bout width 14 1/2 ”
Guitar upper bout width 11”
Waste width 10 ¾”
Diameter of sound hole 3..25”
String action is set at 1/8th”  At the bridge.

As to the finish I think its possibly French polish or shellac as Mr. Tatum was a maker of high end violins and viola so modern varnishes or lacquers would not have been used Please take a moment to view my other items for saleAny questions Please call.. 07557377759Combined postage can apply if you purchase other items from us please message us first...Due to the high costs of postage international buyers are asked to request a postal cost before purchase or biding some items have very high international postage costsThe postage costs cover the packaging and the postage (unusual shapes and sizes of our items have to be hand packed not just jiffy bagged)All electrical goods we sell are as is& without test certificate we therefore tell buyers “Due to the nature of selling second user electrical items I cannot and will notguarantee this item.
