What makes this guitar special: This one fits the definition of "player's grade" like a glove. Plenty of mods, but nothing that kills the soul of the instrument, and free of any cracks or breaks. All the right pieces are there-it's still a vintage Gibson with solid mahogany construction, a bound maple cap, and neck carve that is absolutely sublime. It plays like a dream and sounds absolutely killer, with a kitschy vibe and tons of mojo. According to the finish in the electronics cavity, this one started out as a Cherry Sunburst Deluxe. From there, who knows what really happened. The clear coat on the back and sides has been sanded off, the minis were gutted, and the body was routed, re-routed, and then some of those routs were filled. The cherry burst was sanded off the top, and it was shot  in a dark green. The pots remain original, and there are no cracks or breaks despite the numerous modifications. Despite the mods, this one has kept its spirit and still has a fabulous sound with remarkable playability. It’s been professionally setup and inspected by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play, or if you’re so bold, ready to be restored to its former glory.Cosmetic condition:  Structurally sound with no cracks or breaks. The original pickup cavities were routed for humbuckers, and the neck rout was filled back in to house a DiMarzio mini-humbucker. The edges of the routs are visible in a few places. The original finish has been sanded off the entire guitar, and the top has been refinished in a dark green. There are various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout the body, neck, and headstock, and the original tuners are a little stiff, but function properly. The frets show wear consistent with age, but still have some life left in them, and all notes ring clear up and down the length of the fingerboard. Body: Two-piece mahogany body in stripped finish with bound maple cap refinished in green. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece.Weight: 9 lb, 10.4 ozNeck: C-shaped mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Original Gibson Deluxe tuners function perfectly. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo, gold Les Paul logo, and “Deluxe” truss rod cover. Double bound rosewood fingerboard is in great shape with no pitting, and while frets show wear consistent with age, there is still life left in them. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the length of the fingerboard.Electronics: Replacement DiMarzio humbucker (3.74K ohms) in the neck position and replacement ‘80s Gibson Pat. No. humbucker (7.27K ohms) in the bridge position. 3-way pickup selector switch and gold speed knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone. Pots are original and date to ’74. All electronics are in fully functional condition.Case: Unoriginal Epiphone hard shell case included. Case has a couple chips, scuffs, and tears in the tolex but works fine.
