About as good as it gets. This is a custom made Telecaster that features a Gloss Birdseye Maple Warmoth neck (Slim C profile), mated to a Bacchus '69 Telecaster body (and these are damned near impossible to find today). I was going for a cross between a 51 Nocaster and a '69 Slimline. This guitar is the result, a Model 5169. Now let's take a look at how she's built. The body and neck are the high end stuff (The neck would set you back $475 plus a 6 week wait for it to be finished). The Bacchus body is a little more obscure but the guitar it came off of retails for $1299.95 (NOT cheap). Here's a brief background on Bacchus:The Bacchus '69' Thinline Telecaster' copy is a high end Guitar, originated in 1991 by Deviser, a Japanese manufacturer which was focused on cloning both Fender and Gibson guitars with extraordinary accuracy. These are very rare these days and are generally considered one of a kind. A particularly notable Bacchus model was the 'Limited Model' from the Universe series made by Deviser in Japan.Deviser has not made a 'Thinline Telecaster' in the 'Universe Series' since 2004. If you want a Thinline Bacchus you have to buy one of the 'Handcrafted Series' guitars ($2,000+).The woods Bacchus used and uses are extremely expensive and sometimes rare. The grain of the wood they use is amazing on every model. They bookmatch woods that aren't one piece, and use high-quality nitrocellulose for the finishes on most mid-range to high-end models. This body is pretty much as the above description, Now let's move on to the hardware:The neck pickup is a Dimarzio Twang King, the Bridge is a Rio Grand 'Muy Grande" which produces the characteristic Telecaster twang, only on steroids. This is one of the most powerful and clear single coil pickups I have ever played, It can take you from Brad Paisley, to Keith Richards, to Prince, all the way up to Soundgarden with just a twist of the Volume knob. That's a pretty amazing range, especially when you consider that it's holding it's own against probably a Les Paul or an Explorer on the other side of the stage. The pots are CTS, The Switch is a 3 way CRS and the input jack is switchcraft. It's got individual roller saddles and Schaller Locking tuners. Even the strap buttons are Dunlop dual design. In short this guitar is built top shelf. Now to business. You couldn't buy this guitar for under $1500 at any music shop ANYWHERE. You could maybe score it on ebay or Reverb for $1200 if in fact it existed and wasn't a one of a kind custom. But it is, and the price I'm offering it at represents what it cost me to build it. I'll never be able to find a replacement for it that will even come close to the quality but I need to cover some lingering final expenses of a loved one, and this is the only way I know how. Paypal at auctions end and shipping will be $25 to the local 48. Use the Buy it now and I'll ship for free Thanks for looking.
