What makes this guitar special: This guitar was just acquired from the original owner, who custom ordered it in black in late ’76…a rare find! It’s been player modified with a Nashville style Tune-O-Matic bridge, which does wonders for the sustain of the instrument and does a fabulous job of enhancing the sound. This is one of the better playing Baldwin era guitars you could get your hands on, with a neck feel that is so comfortable it makes playing virtually effortless. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this black beauty will arrive ready to play right out of the case.Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for its age, with a terrific vibe and some good honest playwear. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs throughout, with ample weather checking and multiple areas of finish wear. The original bridge has been replaced, and holes were drilled into the body to accommodate the Tune-O-Matic. Curiously, this one has no visible serial number. There is tarnishing on much of the hardware, and the gold has flaked off on much of the tremolo arm. The G-Arrow tops to the volume knobs are missing. Overall, it has a fantastic look to it with a gorgeous vintage patina.Body: Double bound semi-hollow maple body in custom order black finish. Replacement Tune-O-Matic bridge and gold Bigsby tremolo tailpiece. Bronze Chet Atkins Country Gentleman pickguard and metal pickup bezels.Weight: 8 lb, 7.7 ozNeck: Soft-C shaped maple neck with black side dots and pearl thumbnail inlays. 1 11/16” nut width with zero fret. 24.6” scale length. Bound headstock with pearl Gretsch logo and gold Grover tuners in perfect working condition. Bound ebony fingerboard is in great shape with only some light pitting, but nothing affects playability. Original frets are in great shape with a lot of life left. Neck is straight and truss rod works great.Electronics: Dual FilterTron humbuckers (Bridge-4.71k ohms, Neck-4.73k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch, 3-way tone selector switch, and etched knobs, 2x invididual volume, 1x master volume.Case: Original hard shell case included. Case is in rough shape, but still does the job. Original bridge is not included.
