Up for auction here is a 1967 Levin LN-26 Dreadnought size acoustic guitar, often referred to as the 'Goliath' model. The top is of tightly grained Alpine spruce paired with mahogany back and sides and a rosewood on mahogany neck. Image five will give an idea of the grain pattern on this fine soundboard along with the kind of lacquer crazing which is nearly always evident in guitars of this vintage. Included in the auction is a Hiscox Lite-Flite hard case which is in very clean condition and features a kind of deep honey fabric interior.
A good deal of information is available on the web about this highly regarded model, so I urge serious potential buyers to do a little research on the subject. Personally I've come to understand that I'm really more of a 000 body kind of a chap and so this is being sold to part fund a slotted headstock 12-fret affair, which is what I started with. This guitar though has a very powerful voice with really authoritative bass and lucid mid range. This guitar is in Muswell Hill in North London and I would prefer that the eventual winner collects it in person, for obvious reasons. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Cheers.
