Vintage Gibson ES-335 TDWI'm selling my Gibson ES-335 TDW. It was manufactured in 1970 and has the orange label, headstock volute and "Made In USA" stamp on the headstock. There are no cracks, breaks or headstock repairs. There is a ding on the backside of the neck near the headstock but it isn't felt while playing. There are a lot of small dings, impressions, chips and fine lacquer checking. This one was converted to a stop tail and, although it devalues the guitar, is an improvement in my opinion. The pickups are not original and are a mixture of Gibson and Dimarzio. The guitar appears to still have it's original Sprague Black Beauty capacitors. The slim profile neck has a brass nut (soooo 1970's) and a nice, dark fretboard that has been refretted in the not too distant past. It appears to have had different tuners installed at one point as evidenced by the rings around the tuner ferrules. She weighs in at 7.9 lbs. The guitar will ship in a late 70's black and red hardshell case with a replaced handle and funky latches. The good news is that this ES plays and sounds great! It feels light and has a dry, mature and woody tone. Acoustically, it is loud and resonant and projects well. This is NOT a collector's piece but a functional, giggable vintage ES and a good deal for old wood. Please ask all questions prior to purchase as I cannot accept returns. Paypal only, please.
