Description

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS MUST CONTACT ME FIRST PRIOR TO BIDDING, BUYING OR MAKING OFFERS!!!!Up for a buy it now or best offer has to be one of the finest 1936 Gibson Recording King archtops on the planet. I think this is a Model 5, but correct me if I am wrong. The FON # in the treble side F hold is black ink stamped 893B with #17 in red pen, dating it to 1936. The wards decal is visable thru the bass side F hole. This one is in absolutely amazing condition, Exc+++ to near mint vintage condition! The finish is beautiful, and the pictures really do not do this guitar justice. It also was made with some stunning maple, like what you would see on the highest end Gibson models!!! The guitar is in absolutely perfect playing condition, straight neck, perfect neck angle (with lots of room to lower the bridge), like new frets, like new Brazilian fingerboard, nearly like new original finish (minus a few minor marks here and there, like new original Grovers, basically looks like a 1 year old guitar, not an 81 year old guitar!!! Super cool multi ply and checkered binding everywhere, including the neck!!!! The guitar plays and sounds amazing, zero neck issues at all. The sound is very complex, loud and punchy, with excellent sustain, what you would expect from a higher end Gibson from their golden era of archtops, as this guitar does feature a hand carved Adirondack red
spruce top. The guitar comes in its original case, which is totally solid, and has done a wonderful job of preserving this guitar!!! I also have the matching banjo (see last pic), from the same original owners estate, on another ebay listing, these are a very cool matching set, and I would love to see them stay together as they have been for the last 81 years!!!   SHIPPING WILL BE CHEAPER THAN POSTED THE CLOSER YOU LIVE TO NY!!!
