Available today is a horn that truly needs no introduction! Words can do no justice for a fine instrument like this one. Here is a near mint, 1957, Selmer Mark vi tenor saxophone. The serial number is 69,xxx and is one of the most beautiful examples of an early 5 digit tenor's that you will ever see! This horn is all original and has spent the majority of its life in the case. 95% of its original laq remain and otherwise is quite flawless! There are no previous dents, repairs, or resolders anywhere on the horn. Both the bell lip and original neck (with matching serial number) are pristine. The only wear to the finish is on the inside (players side) where it would rub against your clothes while playing- aside from the minimal wear to the finish, it is mint! This horn comes with the majority of its original pads and will likely need an overhaul to get back to top playing shape. Due to the high collectible value of this rare sax, I will leave it up to the new owner as to if, when and by whom the overhaul work would be done by. The majority of the original pads still have laq. overspray on them from the Selmer factory. It comes in the original Selmer case that is also in matching condition (as shown in pics). 2/3 of the zipper work but one of the zipper teeth is damaged so the case does not zip completely but you do get 2/3 to close which is more than safe for transport and carrying purposes. It's incredible rare to find the holy grail of mark VI's- "the 5 digit" vintage, in such mint shape and condition. This instrument will only continue to significantly rise in value and if not for anything else, to be had as a wonderful investment opportunity. 20 years from now this horn may very well be worth close to $50k. Don't miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to own this remarkable piece of Selmer's finest history!
