GUILD STARFIRE IV NEWARK STREET COLLECTION MIK2012 Music Radar’s Semi-hollow Guitar Award 2013In 2012 Mike Lewis of Fender ordered the direct and faithful copying in the Samick Factory in Incheon South Korea (where the best Gretsch guitars outside Japan are also made) of eight Guild 50s/60s Newark St New Jersey USA Models that were hanging on the wall.(Fender has since sold out of the Guild brand and this collection is not made any more, so it is highly collectable.)I have owned most of the eight models and they are magnificent guitars, with this Guild Starfire IV arguably the very best model of the eight, but I am selling down my collection right now, so this is to your benefit!I have performed with this guitar several times in my band Blues Collective (see Facebook) and at the Sydney Blues Society Jams.I bought it very well from a guy who needed the money to travel, and he had Sydney Guitar Repairs do all the crazy good setup and the mods to which I added a DiMarzio Switchcraft Right-angled three way toggle switch ($49). The SGR mods include new 500K tone pots and caps and wiring, a bone nut and a zero fret for amazing intonation and stability. The truss rod cover is missing as it didn't fit once the higher bone nut and zero fret were installed, so I chucked that cover out.The clarity and drive of this guitar with the mods and the original spec Guild vintage humbucker pickups is astounding and I reckon it gives a Gibson 335 a real run for its money (certainly better made and sounding than the Gibson Studio Memphis 335 which I have also owned, IMHO!)The guitar is almost unmarked (some tiny scratches on the back, not visible in photos). The neck and board and setup and intonation are perfect all the way, and the only reason I am selling this rather than another guitar is that the board is just a tad narrow for my very long (22cm) hand.I will register, insure and mail this via Australia Post anywhere in Australia for only $40 (it will cost me more than that) or it can be picked up in Brooklyn 2083 or I can drop it off to the successful buyer in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney, by arrangement.Check out my 433 Turquoise Stars and 100% Positive Feedback on eBay and know that I am one of the best (and unfaithful to my guitars) seller's out there.Please don't offer to trade or buy outside of eBay, which I will not do.Good luck in the auction!
