This Fender 5C5 started life when Fender switched to 12ax7 tubes, which should be around 1953-54, and was most likely covered in tweed. At some point in the 60's it was stripped and painted mahogany and then in the 70's covered with black tolex before being garaged. When we found it at an estate sale it was in need of some updating to make it safe and usable. The filter caps, coupling caps and power chord were replaced with Atoms and Orange Drops. The ouput transformer had been precariously replaced and has been replaced itself with a vintage correct OT. We opted to finish the cabinet with Fender sunburst colors from the mid 50's and leave the scars in the cabinet showing. Nitrocellulose satin lacquers. Here's your chance to own a nice piece of amplifier history.
