Fender American Vintage Thin Skin 1954 StratocasterI believe this is a 2007 model year (?) Fender Thin Skin '54 Stratocaster. It was originally purchased at Dave's Guitars in WI. This was a limited edition run and includes a center pocket tweed case, a 2nd neck plate, COA, cord, hang tags, etc. This guitar features a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, 9 1/2" radius, medium jumbo frets, swamp ash body and Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups. She was recently set up and plays great with a fairly low action and a nice, slinky feel. The overall condition is fair as the guitar does show the wear and tear of being gigged nearly every weekend for close to 10 years. There are several large chips, dings, scratches, impressions, arm and back wear and lacquer checking. There is fingerboard wear and the finish on the back of the neck has worn off. This finish is SUPER THIN! All the wear is legit and not simulated or "relic'd". Structurally and functionally, the guitar is fine. The frets are in good condition and show very little wear and the electronics work great. The pickguard and pickup covers were changed at one point (originals are included) and the switch has been reverted back to a 3 way. The guitar is lightweight @ 7.38 lbs. This guitar is loud and resonant and very full sounding acoustically. Amplified, it's very Stratty!
