Description
Exact Year: 1967 Model: Vintage
Brand: Gibson Series: Vintage

Vintage Gibson Thunderbird II, 1967, all-original in very good condition for a 50-year-old-bass. Body has some typical playwear, some nicks and chips, mostly along the bottom and top edges, nothing really on the front or back. Bass has been owned by the same person for the last 45 years and has been played but well cared for. Complete except for no pickup cover and the impossible-to-find mute. (I've never seen one and I doubt they work well). This bass sustained a common neck crack along the G string tuner in the early 70s and was professionally repaired. (see photo). The crack has been stable ever since and is rock solid. Electronics all work perfectly and the single pickup is thunderous. Neck is straight, truss rod works well and it takes low action without buzzing remarkably well. There is some  interesting horizontal finish checking on the neck, shown, strictly cosmetic, no effect on playing or comfort.  A very cool non-Gibson custom-made case. A bit heavy but very solid. Bass fits perfectly and all latches work as they should. NIce cosmetic touches. For the vintage enthusiast, this will not disappoint.  Shipping may show up as pricey, given the weight but I will work with any serious buyer to offset high shipping charge if it has to travel far.
