1964 Blackface Fender Bassman Vintage Tube Amplifier-- Head Only
Estimated price for orientation: 1 100 $
Category: Guitar Amplifiers
Class:
Description Exact Year: 1964 Model: Blackface Bassma Brand: Fender Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
This outstanding example of a 1964 Blackface Bassman has the preferred (and rarer) AA864 circuit. The codes on the choke, power transformer and output transformer are all consistent with components manufactured in 1964. The tolex is in good original condition, and the fabric is sufficiently aged to make me think it is original. Also pictured is the receipt I got from Larry Rodgers of Rodger's Amplifiers. He was a nationally renowned Fender Amplifier guru. He passed away recently, but his website is still up. Over the years, I drove my Blackface Bassman, my Blackface Princeton Reverb, and my Silverface Twin Reverb to him for service after I purchased them. I don't recall whether I put all the parts and receipts in the same bag, so some of the pictured parts may not be from the Bassman, although they may be. This amp is quiet at idle; I keep the pots clean and protected with Deoxit Cleaner and Gold protectant--they are smooth with no scratchy noises when adjusted. If you want a great Bassman, buy this one! Thanks.
