The 1RU EXP2x Dante Expander from Rane is an input/output expander that enables the HAL1x to send 32 and receive 32 audio channels from other Dante devices. The EXP2x can interface a HAL1x System with a Dante network and enables you to connect a Dante network between facilities or multiple independent HAL1x systems. Built-in sample rate converters support 48 kHz or 96 kHz sample rates on the Dante network.Up to 16 EXP2x Expanders can be daisy-chained to a single HAL1x to max-out at 512 x 512 channels on both a single cable on the Dante network and the HAL1x's Expansion Bus. The HAL1x supports 32 expanders on its bus, thereby allowing the EXP2x to be combined with other expanders. The Dante Expander is also equipped with a secondary Dante port for either redundant mode or switch mode. The Dante Controller software can be used for all network audio and EXP2x Brooklyn II card management. To aid troubleshooting, the EXP2x provides front panel and Halogen software indicators for Dante connection, network status, flow active, and audio signal present. Dante provides a self-configuring network with low latency, while providing a plug-and-play digital audio network using standard Internet protocols on existing infrastructure, without requiring a dedicated network. The expander is suitable for use in installed sound, performing arts venues, and education & corporate environments.
