youtube.com/watch?v=uS8UwjRickQThe Case… This guitar comes with its original Gibson USA black reptile skin case. The case is in great overall shape but does have a few minor scrapes and dings. The white interior complements the guitar as well as keeping it safe and secure. This case is road or storage worthy. The Guitar! This beautiful Les Paul standard is a terrific player. It features a medium profile neck and weighs only 7lbs 9.2 oz thanks to chambering weight relief. That’s right, a sub 8lbs Les Paul! This one is back-issue friendly and is a real looker to boot! The guitar maintains an excellent appearance condition wise, but once you get upclose and start looking there is some light wear and tear to the guitar. The headstock has a few dings on the sides from clipping the ends of strings. There are also some string change scratches on the headstock’s face. The frets show some wear in the cowboy chord area, but nothing that affects playability as of now. The frets and fretboard were just cleaned and oiled. The fretboard is a nice ‘top of the fresh baked brownie’ light brown. Mix that with the beautiful Peach Tea-like top and you've got a winning, delicious combo! The front of the guitar is very active with lots of light flame all over the top. This is one guitar that doesn’t photograph very well, but is a knockout in person. Please view the video tour for a better look at the top as well as a demo of the guitar being played and extensive look at the condition. There are a few light dings scattered about the top – some by the arm rest area, by the tailpiece and in picking area. There is some light picking scratches as well. As with all Plus Tops - there was never a pickguard installed on this guitar so no holes in the top or sides of the guitar. The back of the headstock is pretty clean with just minor wear and tear and a few light playing marks on the back of the neck – none that are overly apparent. Under blacklight, you can see some stand rash at the base of the neck and on the back of the guitar please see video tour, however, in normal lighting situations, you won’t see the stand rash. The back of the guitar has a few impressions from the previously mentioned non-nitro-safe stand. You can really only see these impressions when looking at the back in the light. Otherwise, you just have some light playing wear to the back of the guitar. There is no excessive buckle wear. The sides of the guitar have a few scratches, but nothing to get worked up over. This guitar is all original with the exception of changed out strap buttons with Dunlop Strap locks and the pots have been swapped out with 500k pots with yellow caps. The tone pots are rather scratchy and could either used a good cleaning or replacement depending on how sensitive you are to a bit of scratchiness. If you’re a set-it-and-forget-it type of player, this won’t bother you – but if you like to do volume swells or changes during songs, it might. The pickups are the original ‘Patent Applied For’ Lead and Rhythm Pro Gibson PickupsConclusion Overall, this is a pretty clean guitar that will make anyone happy! The lightweight, but full feel of a Les Paul is great for the gigging musician that needs to play long sets every night. The top will make you want to stare at it for hours and then play it for twice as long.
