Description
Brand: Silvertone Model: 1346
Exact Year: 1952 Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

Up for sale today is a beautiful Silvertone guitar amplifier made in 1952. This is a very rare Model 1346, 2x12 all tube amplifier. This amp was just fully serviced by the local tech and kept as original as possible. 3 prong grounded cord was added, one broken tube was replaced and any of the capacitors or resistors that were replaced I will be including for the next buyer to keep (last photo). The original handle had deteriorated into oblivion, so I replaced it with a leather handle that was as aesthetically close to the original as possible. This amp sounds incredible. The tremolo is lush from nice sweeps to an almost chorus like sound when the speed is cranked. Two channels each with their own volume and two inputs. There is a master treble and bass knob as well as a master volume knob which is pretty unheard of for an amp from this era. Even when the amp is cranked it stays 100% clean. The tone is really wonderful. The amplifier does show obvious signs of use and age such as knicks, marks, stains, scratches, etc. but surprisingly the original cabinet is still solid and usable. They are made out of compressed cardboard and usually fall apart over time. This one must have just been hiding in someones closet over the years. I did not do a thorough cleaning because I did not want to mess up the color or anything about the cabinet, so I will leave that to the next owner if they feel the need. All of the pots are super clean, with no scratching. Everything functions and sounds as it should. The speakers are original and do have some rust on them, but that is purely cosmetic. The wicker grill cloth has some discoloring but is fully intact. The amp tech date the pots to the 41st week of 1951 and the speakers dated the 1st week of 1952 landing the manufacturing date of this amp in 1952.This amplifier is a real collectors piece due to its rarity and fully functioning condition. Would make a great addition to any studio or live setting. This amp is sold as is, as described or photographed. Please refer to the photos and description or ask me any questions you may have before purchasing so you know exactly what you will be receiving. The amp will ship, fully insured, via Fedex Ground with tracking. I have shipped many amplifiers all over the world so rest assured, this amp will be packaged exactly as it should be.Thanks for looking.
