The Gibson ES-339 may still be a relatively new addition to the lineup but it is already beloved by so many different guitarists. Finally you can get your hands on a great sounding semi hollow with a vintage sound but in a smaller body. This version the ES-339 Studio is a great value way for you to get a great little vintage style guitar that will keep on going night after night.2016 ChangesAlthough it still looks very similar to the 2015 version there are a few small changes under the hood that make it a much better experience. First of all they changes the control layout to have the full set of volume and tone controls available on the front panel. This brings it closer to what we know from the higher end 339 models with two volume and two tone pots. The other major change is with the tone capacitor. It has been upgraded from .022mF to .016mF which means you have a bit more high end sparkle than on the 2015 model.Built Like The OriginalWhile the ES-339 is new Gibson have been making this style of guitar since 1958 and in fact were the first to make the worlds first commercial thinline archtop semi-acoustic guitar. This guitar takes on that long heritage of refining and development and mixes the best of traditional designs and modern materials to make sure you get the best ES-339 you can.Made with a 3 ply maple top, back and sides this guitar has the same sound that has followed the ES-339 since its inception. The F holes still have their place in the body of this guitar as well allowing for a certain level of amplification in the room before you need to plug your guitar in to practice.Updated NeckThe neck has changed shape a little bit with a slightly thicker 'C' shape design that not only means that you will love how this feels, but you can also rely on this guitar night after night as it stronger structurally. Still made of maple with a torrefied maple fingerboard this guitar has an authentic feel and design that is easy to pick up and play.Part of this shape change also comes from the fact that the neck binding is now rolled so you get a smoother, nicer to hold neck. Add in the fact that the frets are now lower so you can get a lower action than ever before.Stage Ready HardwareIt wouldn't be a Gibson if you couldn't take it on stage straight out of the box with no modifications, just a quick set up to your liking, tune and you are ready. To make sure that it sounds great as soon as you plug it in to your amp you have a set of Gibson's own '57 Classic pickup in the neck and a Super '57 Classic in the bridge. These pickups are based on the pickups that came on some of the earliest Gibson guitars so you know it is going to have a great vintage sound. It's not all about how it sounds but how it feels and how stable it is. Keeping this guitar in check so you can rely on this guitar every night you have Grover Rotomatic machine heads and a new locking tailpiece and tonepros bridge. This collection of quality hardware means that you will stay in tune no matter how hard you like to pick.Specifications3-ply plain Maple body 1-piece Maple neck 22-fret Torrified Maple fingerboard Pearloid dot inlays F-Hole emblem engraved truss rod cover Rolled neck binding '57 Classic and Super '57 Classic humbucker pickups Master volume and tone controls Grover Rotomatic tuners ABR-1 Bridge Nickel hardware Ginger Burst
