1988 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 in ROYAL BLUE FLAMETOP finish in good condition, with original PRS hardshell case - serial number 8 40xx. This early and vintage PRS is not for the person who wants a mint vintage PRS - this is for the collector and player that digs and appreciates when a guitar has actually been PLAYED. HARD. And this one has. The original owner played/toured this Custom 24 for many, many years. All parts, pickups, electronics, etc are original - with the exception of the truss rod cover, and she has had a pro refret. Condition-wise, this early Cu24 for LOTS of dings, scrapes, scratches, chips, etc - we would rate her at a 6.5 out of 10. The original PRS hard case has two broken latches, and has nylon rope for a handle. This guitar has a great great PLAYER vibe. This is a beautiful ROYAL BLUE FLAMETOP WRAPAROUND FINISH - and the finish has not faded - she has nearly all of her original vibrancy - see the photos. Features the original 'T' and 'B' humbucking pickups, sweet switch, early 5 way switch (with the cocked-wah setting, as on the early PRS guitars), PRS locking tuners, and the original tremolo and arm. You will notice that the serial number in the pickup cavity starts with '7' - so this PRS was started in 1987, and finished in early 1988. Standard neck carve (this was before the wide/thin necks, etc) - and before the '10 Top' designation - although this one does have the famous 'star' inside the pickup cavity. This is a beautiful and wonderfully broken-in early PRS with a stunning ROYAL BLUE FLAMETOP FINISH.
