Up for your consideration. 1930's Excelsior Modern Concert Multi Grand Accordian. 120/41.
The accordian is stamped 4493. It has a tag that reads Modern Concert Multi Grand. Pat. No. D-102700. I did research and this accordian was made by Roberto Pancotti that lived in New Jersey and filed for the patent in May 13,1936. The accordian is in really nice shape for its age and is in working condition. There is one strap that is broken but could be easily sewn. The outside decorative cover has melpomene outlines which is very RARE!! The case shows some wear as well as the accordian and there is some veneer that has three small places that have chipped which i assume is from use. It is in very good condition for being 80 years old. The keys have yellowed some as well. The mesh screen has some rips. Bellows look very nice. All keys and buttons work as they should. Measures approximately 20 1/2 inches across keyboard and 17 in. Front to back. It comes with a case that is lined with blue velvet with a flap protector. The case has a ribbon on the upper left hand side that reads Excelsior Accordions Inc. N.Y. The outside of the case has wear but does shut and lock appropriately. The handle is intact and sturdy carries and protects the accordian nicely.
Please see pictures of the patent information that has been obtained. Comes with a Palmer Hughes Accordion course book. That has been written in by possibly the second owner of this instrument.
When you move the instrument around it sounds like there may be a dime or something rolling around inside.
