This set was won as a prize in 2014 and has been my stalwart back-up set since then, having been played in various solo competitions, including the Northern Meeting in Inverness, when my main instrument was being "difficult". This set has never let me down, having also been played socially and as the "Lone Piper" at the Highland Tattoo in Fort George. Now surplus to requirements, it's time to pass them on.This is a very smart instrument, being constructed from attractively-grained African Blackwood, with imitation 1v0ry mounts and nickel ferrules and drone caps, the set is fitted into a Ross bag, complete with bag cover and is ready to play with your own choice of reeds and chanter (not included). The set was made by Craig Lawrie and believed to be to the traditional Lawrie design. They are in great condition with no signs of wear, although the bass bottom section has a small chip in the wood which has been there from new and isn't readily visible.The set has a full, rich sound, offering great volume balance between the drones.
