1959 Gibson GA-88 S Stereo Amplifier. Made for the Gibson ES family of Stereo Guitars such as the ES-345T and ES-355T models. The accepted number of these made in 1959 was 97. 236 total over the '59 to '61 production run. I bought this years ago from a local music store. I have never plugged it in as I wanted to have it checked out first. The amp section looks unmodified, the speakers appear to be original with original cones and date from 1959. The speaker cables look to be updated and somebody cut 3 speaker holes in each baffle. Overall it is nice for it's age, the Tweed type covering has stains that don't seem to come out. Maybe that is how this plastic coated material ages ? It does have a red spot on top of the large cab. I ran out of space for pictures, so send me a message and I'll be happy to send you more. As happens to all collectors eventually, the time comes to reduce the size of my collections. I am reluctantly selling a few Les Pauls, 2 Dean Dave Mustaine AODs and a custom built EVH Strat. - all Lefty of course. Every one is unplayed and bought new by me. Also going are a few Marshalls ( '81 JMP 2203, NiB ZW micro stack, 2 Silver Jubilee cabs and more ), a mint, unplayed 1995 Soldano Hot Rod 50+ and a 1959 Gibson Stereo Amp. Please bear in mind that this is a downsizing move, not a fire sale. I welcome offers, but insults will be ignored.UPS shipping is Free in the Continental US. If you want USPS or Fed Ex, contact me.If you have any questions, please contact me and I will do the best I can to answer them. Please check out my other auctions as I get them listed.
