Here's a rare one: a 1938 Stromberg Ultra Deluxe archtop acoustic guitar! As you know, Stromberg was one of the premier archtop guitar builders of the era. Along with D'Angelico and a few others, Stromberg built a reputation as the best of the best. This guitar is a gorgeous example of what Stromberg was capable of. The guitar features beautiful tonewoods. Flamed maple on the back and sides, and sitka spruce on the top.The fretboard inlays are ornately and beautifully engraved. A very classy touch. The guitar appears to be all original, and is in extremely good condition! Looks like one possible top crack repair (very minor and very stable) and some minor typical aging of the finish. The guitar is ready to go!
These guitars are a bit difficult to age, but this one is from the late 1930's by all indicators. Not able to get an exact date, so 1938 is a best guess.Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
