I Implore... IF that buyer is seeing this auction... You bought from me about 10 years ago an old Burns guitar but I sent the wrong one then the right one soon afterwards.... The one you should have sent back was the orange (faded red) Ampeg Burns with the white tipped strat style vibrato attached. I still get physically ill when I think about you keeping both guitars when you knew the 1st was sent by mistake... I hope you want to return it to me but didn't recall how to get a hold of me or something like this. Please, if you are that buyer... I still wish to get my orangey red Ampeg Burns Jazz Splitsound Wild dog back.. I hope to hear from you about making arrangements. If anyone knows my guitar and can help us get in contact it would be greatly appreciated. Now.. okay...:::: BREAKING NEWS ::::: I HAVE INCLUDED A NICE HARD SHELL CASE NOW! Please ask for pics if you wish to see how it looks in the case.. Perfect fit! Thank you! Those whom follow my auctions know I search out and find the best examples of pre-owned / vintage items I can of everything I sell. I thank you for keeping up on my auctions and sharing them with your friends and families. Your support is key to the survival of not only myself and my mom, but our feral cat rescue efforts.About this guitar:I purchased this guitar from Per Gjörde whom wrote the 1st BURNS Book after I bought and read the book at that point in time. Unfortunately I no longer have the book but the guitar did come with an autographed envelope because Per knew I had already purchased it. I found a nice hard shell case I can include with this guitar. If you want of a pic of this guitar in this case I found please ask. I can send it to you.If you are looking at this you most likely know what it is... Ampeg famously joined with Burns of London in the early 60s and it wasn't long before this association changed to BoL and Baldwin.. so this was a short lived time in Burns history. I forget what made this model more rare than the Split sound.. besides the body shape... I will look into and add to the description.Despite not having the selector knob, this guitar performs very well. Action is great, intonation as well. Switching works well, maybe some contact cleaner eventually. It crackles as they all do when you don't play it for a while. It's just dust in the contacts usually, no big deal.As you see it in the pictures is how it was bought from Per. I took it out to play maybe a total of a week every year since that time period. I do not recall if this guitar was pictured in the book "for sure"... I recently chatted with someone on FB's Burns group who had to refer to the book himself because he believes he has the one from the book as well. If this isn't the one from the book, it was the runner up I guess. I'm waiting to here from Per on this now actually.. maybe he'll see this listing or hear about it from someone more in contact with him and contact me? Maybe? hahaa!A pure, nice playing, great sounding, classic vintage British made guitar.Brian May of QUEEN is famous for taking Burns TriSonic pickups from other model Burns guitars.. this has Burns Split Sound pickups. They are very different but can give a somewhat similar tone depending on which setting you are in and what sort of a rig you are running through. But always remember that Brian's sound is mostly from his touch and style of playing.. which is purely his own.Burns did a "Red Special" guitar in 2000 and they did a great job. Lots of tribute bands seek those out to get a nice close tone to play in the Queen tribute bands. Now, Brian's company sells basically the same guitar... so if that's your goal, I'd check into one of those.Back to this guitar though.I do have many more pictures which I can send but if you have f b and know the Burns group and are in it... you can see them all there.Any questions?Be rest assured that this, as well as all my auctions, benefit the disabled and elderly (myself and my mom).
