Model Year: 2012 Model: Les Paul Traditional

Up for sale is a Gibson Les Paul Traditional guitar, in cherry burst style body finish. This guitar is in extremely fine, pretty nearly untouched condition. I hesitate to call any guitar mint, but this one is pretty close, or maybe is just downright mint. Comes in the Gibson OHSC, which is also in fantastic shape. Serial No.: 127500461, which makes this a Model Year 2012, Nashville production.. The color is the Heritage Cherry Burst. The burst finish is in splendid shape, with a thick gloss and glow, no evident blems, and just exudes that classic Lester vibe. A jaw-dropping, gorgeous electric instrument. In terms of appointments, the specs are out there but briefly this is meant to embody the time-honored vintage virtues of Les Paul’s iconic design. Starting with the body weight. It’s heavy, fashioned from a joined two-piece mahogany body with maple top. It’s “weight-relieved,” so it’s got a few holes carved out of it, but less body material is removed than other models (it’s not “chambered”) before or since to preserve that solid, considerable, beefy feel- you’ll know you are holding it and playing it. And you will be heard. That construction of course produces a big, warm, meaty, growling sound. Distortion that will warm up your Marshall. Needless to say, you get sustain that goes on for days. If this isn’t the classic fat brown distortion type of sound, I’m not sure what is. But this is actually a more versatile guitar than that- you can dial it in to get a fluty, warm, jazz type of sound too, among others. Pickups are Classic 57s (Alnico IIs; I think the bridge is overwound for a little higher output). But to me, the outstanding feature of the Trad is the neck. It’s big, wide, meaty, capacious- much different than your basic Epiphone clone or even other Gibson variants. The frets (and nut) are PLEK’kd. You get a ton of playing comfort and all kinds of real estate to dig into. Cream-colored binding around the neck and body of course. To me, this guitar is like holding a piece of history in your hands. And it feels about as right as a guitar can feel. This would be hard to call a high-tech guitar- we’re at the opposite end from one of those pointy shred machines. But it’s possibly the most satisfying axe I’ve ever played. Will ship to continental U.S. buyers at the indicated shipping cost. Happy to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico if you pick up the incremental cost. Also happy to ship to international buyers using the eBay international shipping program. Many thanks for viewing.
