Flight case for double bass by Headcase UK. I bought this amazingly high quality case about 8 years ago from Headcase and used it for a few years, it it is now surplus to requirements. Hybrid model: made from fibreglass and carbon fibre mix. High strength and lighter weight than conventional all fibreglass cases.When new, this cost me more than £2500. So, the price I'm selling this at represents an enormous bargain.Don't confuse this case with the truly appalling Chinese cases that are on the market today, many of which are designed in such a way that they are guaranteed to harm your bass if there is rough handling or if the case is dropped. There is no comparison with this beautifully designed and built case. Very similar to the Gage and Kolstein flight cases made in America for far more money.Headcase no longer make these, but you can find old links online to see the prices they were and what they are going for now. One recently sold in used condition in the USA for approximately £1500.It has been in the hold of planes, guard's vans on trains, and in the back of vans with PA gear etc and has stood up very well to the abuse meted out by baggage handlers and sound men. It is extremely well made and will last a lifetime. Kitted out inside with a multitude of straps and cushioning pads, the case will accommodate any double bass between a small 3/4 (or 5/8th size) up to a full size instrument. A friend hired this case from me over a few years so he could send a variety of different sized basses down to London. They all arrived back in perfect condition despite being sent via a non-specialist carrier (i.e. By courier). This is testimony to the quality and strength of this bass case rather than the care shown by the transit companies!In full working order with a few scuffs here and there, as you would expect.Size 210x75x50cmWeight 21kgI would consider sending this item via courier, at the buyer's expense (and all paid in advance). Or happy to be home for a courier of your choice to come and collect it.
