Vintage 1960 Vox AC15 TV Front 2-Tone AmplifierThis 2-tone amplifier has the second generation cabinet and was manufactured in mid 1960 (dated using Jim's book!).Speaker Date Code: T530 // 07FE (7th June 1960)Cone: Original RICIt has been serviced to a playable & safe standard, by one of our leading amp techs. To find out more about what our service includes, please check out our terms and conditions before purchasing. Condition Overall ‘good’ condition, with obvious wear and tear. This is definitely a players grade amplifier, and not one for the collector. The internals, however, are awesome! Externally, the cabinet has been painted in a dark grey/blue colour - a regular occurrence back in the day. There are bumps and scrapes to the tolex, where the amplifier has been well gigged in the past. The crocodile joins can be seen to the side of the amplifier, and have had some use! They are structurally sound, but may require a bit of glue if you are deciding to gig this amplifier, just to be safe! The bottom backboard has had some paint stripper on it in the past, hence a different colour to the rest of the amplifier. The top backboard has had two added jack sockets; one for a pedal to control the vib/trem, and one for an external speaker cabinet if needed. These added sockets are really handy if this amplifier is going to be played. As stated, internally this amplifier is really clean and original. It is obvious that the cabinet has sustained most of the gigging wear, and the internals haven't, which is perfect for you players out there.Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description. Originality Internally very original, including transformers. The valves are mostly Mullard, with a changed JJ ECC83. There are a few minor service components that have been changed too. The amp has had a small number of components changed to get the vib/trem circuit functioning correctly including a new speed selector switch. This is quite common on Vox amps of this period. Externally, the knobs are newer replacements, along with the grill cloth and 'Vox' logo. A beautiful 'players' grade amplifier, that has a sound to die for! Everything in this has been bedded in. If you want the sound of the classic AC15 TV front, but don't want to pay the top money for a collectors piece, this is your amp!At The Music Locker we will do all we can for you to get the instrument you want.
