For sale is a wonderful 1999 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 1959 Reissue. This 40th anniversary model is highly regarded. 1999 was a great year for these R9s! Somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 of these guitars were made. Serial #991002. R9 stamped in the control cavity. From Gibson - "The guitar is a 1999 Les Paul ’59 Reissue figured top model which has that number. It has heritage cherry sunburst finish, nickel hardware, ’57 Classic humbucking pick-ups, mahogany body with carved maple top and ’59 profile mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. In 1999, the MSRP for this model was $8162."The guitar is in excellent condition, it's mainly been collected the past 18 years. No dings or dents. This guitar is kind of like a "closet classic". There is the slightest of clear coat indentations on a small area on the back. They're hardly visible can't be felt by the touch. The frets look brand new. I believe they have been replaced, as the nibs are not over the ends and they look to be stainless steel. The only modification to the guitar are Seymour Duncan "Pearly Gates" pickups which have push pull, single coil functionality! Original '57 classic humbuckers are included!!No COA, because only very few were actually shipped with it in 1999. It's my understanding that you may have had to send in for the certificate? Also, since it didn't fit in the case, many didn't stay with the guitar. The guitar has been verified authentic by Gibson Custom Shop.
Please look at my feedback and buy with confidence! I’ve sold many guitars over the years and am committed to providing a great experience for the buyer. Everyone has been very pleased with their purchases.I ship guitars in proper guitar boxes that are overly padded/protected with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc. I ship guitars as if I would be shipping to myself!
