VINTAGE FENDER PRECISION BASS NECK 1978-9 (FULL BASS AVAIL, TOO!)
Estimated price for orientation: 755 $
Category: Parts
Class:
Description Brand: Fender Exact Year: 1978-80
FIRST OF ALL..THE DATING OF THIS NECK: [Fender support link prohibited by Ebay.... S9+5 digits]
The neck serial number, according to research, indicates a 1978, 1979, or 1980 neck, and I must say, after 53 years of being a bassist, this is seriously the nicest profile on a P bass neck I'VE ever seen...a little bigger than a Jazz, but really solid and fast playing. Minimal fretwear. Nut may or may not be original..all other parts are original. Truss rod functions perfectly. The heel shows a later date stamp, but common explanation for that is a date of assembly. Someone has been a bit rude with the incorrect sized screwdriver at some point, but the opening is solid and no way squirrelly or in danger of any kind..just a bit cosmetically wonky. Aged maple is solid as a rock! THE POSTED PRICE IS FOR THE NECK ONLY.
I'd prefer to sell this bass intact and as is, but offers for individual parts will be considered and are completely possible. Body is an Aerodyne from Japan that has been decorated with clavos, which has added significant weight, but surprised ME with also adding a meatier quality to my overall sound. It IS rather heavy, though. It's taken a few knocks and has some cosmetic dings all over, for sure. Nordstrand NP4 P bass pickup upgrade, with 10 position varitone switch and 3 position toggle EQ switch for quick, quality tone variations that go from bright and twangy to deep and punchy, with a number of really good midrange alteration positions to choose from, too.
Any other combinations of the body and components would have to be discussed on an individual basis.
Feel free to pick and choose what works for you, and no particular component is out of the question for availability...I'd obviously like to see it go out intact, but I'm open to any and all approaches. Interested parties should message me.SHOULD SOMEONE PURCHASE THE FULL BASS, AS IS, it will come with original molded case.
PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LISTINGS AND PASS THEM ALONG!Shipping: READ THIS!I will only charge the exact amount for the shipping that it turns out to be for whoever gets these: shipper, speed, insurance, location, etc.: ALL THESE THINGS ARE THE BUYER'S CHOICES AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ABOVE AND BEYOND THE SELLING PRICE.
