Although listed as a 3/4 size instrument, the Stagg EDB is perfect for both teenagers and adults. Over in stringed instrument world, very rarely will you come across a full-size double bass - A 3/4 is more than big enough, and the same ruling has been applied to the Stagg here.With its jet black neck and fretboard upon a metallic body finish, you'd be forgiven for thinking the EDB is constructed from graphite and metal, but it is in fact made almost entirely from maple wood.
The bass itself has an attractive streamline design and is available in a wide variety of colours. A smart rounded headstock sporting P-bass style diecast machine heads sits upon a bolt-on maple neck and solid maple fingerboard, leading down to a sleek angular solid maple body. Push-fit arms are also fitted to the body for you to rest up against whilst playing if you wish.The neat and careful finish throughout the construction of the Stagg bass is excellent, and also features a curved fingerboard to allow you to play both pizzicato and arco (bowed). Both the tailpiece and bridge action are also fully adjustable for ultimate precision, whilst an extendable endpin allows you to adjust the playing height of the bass to suit.Electronics

Powered by a single 9-volt battery, the EDB is fitted with a built-in piezo pickup and volume boosting preamp for direct input into a mixer or amplifier. A flip-top battery compartment makes changing the battery a piece of cake, and a small blue LED light indicates when the 6.35mm jack cable is plugged in and the battery is in use - A handy feature to make sure you don't let the power drain.All the wiring is neatly hidden away, and a Volume and Sub Bass control to boost the low-end are housed on the side of the body parrallel with the bottom of the fingerboard, within easy reach when playing.CD/MP3 Input/Headphone Output
A great additional feature is both a CD/MP3 input and a headphone output - Perfect for personal practice, now you can play along with your iPod or MP3 player out loud without disturbing anyone else in the house - A definite plus for beginner upright bassists!Sound
