"Ibanez" appeared as a brand for overseas export of Hoshino Musical Instruments.
Around 1973 the guitar project "The ARTIST SERIES" to reflect the voice of the player directly in a tie-up with a famous musician was launched, based on the body shape of "line symmetric double cutaway", a wide range of models were released with the
4-digit number as the model number from the following year. After that, in 1979 high evaluation from overseas became a back shield and triumphant, AR series with model number AR was announced in Japan and was released as AR series overseas from this time onwards. The AR 100 that appeared in 1980 is a normal 2 volume, 2 tone control until about 1982, but from around 1983 until around 1986 humbucking coil tap (duo sound) becomes possible by tone pot push / push. The mahogany body has a set neck structure of mahogany neck, the body top uses flame maple, features a well-balanced sound with a gorgeous high range and a mid range with warmth. It is a model that can reconfirm the goodness of the original construction that built up the legend.
