This 38 year old Ibanez 2680 Bob Weir Professional is a 1979 original model.
It has a great playing neck with good frets. It comes complete with the original bridge and the velvetune tuners and a non-original hardshell case. It looks great with its German carve body and only very minor dings. There are some hairline cracks in the binding as usual on the edges as pictured, one pickup has the original Ibanez Ibanez flying logo cover, the other pickup is a Seymour Duncan JB Jeff Beck replacement and sounds fantastic. I do have a spare 1979 Super 80 Ibanez pick up available for £100 if you want it but it is not included in this auction. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no neck cracks, breaks, or repairs. All electronics work and sound great. There is some corrosion and pitting to the hardware especially the jack input cover.
These were hand made in Japan and this is original and super rare, the 2680 is a rare model and these were expensive in their day and are now becoming very collectable.
So Miss this one and wait another 10 years to see another one! The last picture is from the original Ibanez 1978 brochure and is for information only, it is not a picture of this guitar.
