1988 Gibson Les Paul Reissue Goldtop: Often referred to as a Pre-Historic '57 reissue the official Gibson model name of this guitar was Les Paul Reissue Goldtop. As reissues go it could only be a '57-early '58 reissue Les Paul Standard as the 1956 model had P-90 pickups and in mid-'58 the Goldtop was discontinued and the sunburst finish began. On to the guitar. The guitar has a traditional carve, medium rounded neck profile. It has thin binding in the cutaway. The guitar is 100% factory stock with the exception of the jack plate which is a new Gibson item. The cracked original is included. The frets show no wear. There are a few light scratches on the back and one that is a but more than that. There is a scratch near the front strap pin and a very faint one on the side of the neck up toward the body(this one could easily be polished out if it bothers you). There is some wear and oxidation on the pickup covers typical of Nickel. The guitar ships in the Gibson protector case as shown.Guitars can experience slight changes in shipping that may require minor adjustments. In addition, I can not predict how you like your guitar set up.
