It all began because I had my mind set on a white Jazzmaster: not a Squier, but not an American Vintage Fender either. I'm not a fan of binding or matching headstocks, plus I didn't have that kind of money to drop. So, the body is a special ordered affair from Warmoth (wanted alder as lightweight as possible, body clocks in at 4.11 lbs) finished in alpine white, has been buffed to a mild shine to look and feel like old nitro.Like most, not a fan of the rhythm circuit either, so I had a custom pickguard made without one. Matte dark tort with some light swirl/use marks. Sitting in it are Seymour Duncan Vintage Jazzmaster (SJM-1) pickups, hooked up to CTS pots, switchcraft switch & jack. 70s fender top hat knobs, unknown origin vintage pickup covers. For ultimate usability, fitted with Warmoth's mustang bridge, a fender trem with staytrem arm & collet (like on the Marr Jaguar) and Allparts buzz stop.Neck is a brand new classic player neck I sourced from a parting-out company on eBay. As such the frets are in great shape as I'm effectively the only user. I fitted the neck with Fender locking vintage style tuners. These look exactly like the vintage ones with the exception of how the string enters, strung through like a modern tuner and then locked, though it does have a crease on top of the tuner to represent where the slot would be on a vintage tuner. Such is the theme of this guitar, sharp vintage looks with modern usability. As this was my #1 it has been gigged. There is a nick in the back of the neck around the 12th fret, does not affect playability. Also, 3 chips on the back I can only assume are from my belt (oops)Below is a list of all the parts and work and it's cost to me to assemble this guitar:220 G&G brown/gold vintage style case370 matte alpine white Warmoth body260 Fender classic player neck (finish professionally taken down to be less glossy, similar to a J mascis neck)140 Seymour Duncan "vintage Jazzmaster" pickups120 relic'd tremolo with Staytrem and buzz stop70 locking fender vintage style tuners (oem'd by Gotoh)45 custom pickguard no rhythm switches50 vintage 70s fender white top hat knobs (both say volume)35 vintage pickup covers (old but not believed to be Fender brand)30 Warmoth Modified Mustang bridge50 CTS pots, switchcraft switch and jack, copper shielding (pro install+ setup)20 aged fender neck plate & strap buttons$1400+ cost of parts n labor (not including all that shipping n tax)Ask any and all questions, I'll get back to you as soon as possible!
