Martin 2 1/2 Style 34 from 1888 The style 34 Martin was a higher quality guitar with an ivory bridge rather than one made of ebony. This Martin has seen years of action and play. When I got this guitar you could not put string tension on it for fear of the headstock snapping off, or the bridge ripping off. When a tiny bit of tension was applied, the action was very high: she needed a neck rest. I have had all issues, all cracks, the headstock, bridge, and a neck reset done to this guitar to get her back in her prime playing state. From the video you can hear it is a very beautiful sounding guitar. The work was performed by a local luthier; Gordan Groves. He used cleats on the larger cracks, and only used hide glue to stay true to the construction. This guitar is great for any collector, or player. She has a lot of damage (all fixed), and that is reflective on the price. Do not have the original coffin case, she will be packed in a soft shell case, and insured. I will post more detailed pictures soon. Feel free to ask me any questions. I don't want to sell her, but I am an upright, and electric bassist. I have no need to own such an amazing piece of history. Don't lose your chance to own it! Cheapest martin from the 1800's on reverb, with by far the most character.
