Copied is the email from fender.My records for serial numbers go back to 1993. This serial number would indicate production from before that time. From the chart that I have listed below it appears to be a Japanese serial number from 1986-1987. The model that it appears to be however wasn't introduced until 1991 and is listed with a different pickup configuration. I don't have any explanation for this other than there were many inconsistencies from this era with imported instruments like this...F000106
