Description Brand: Gibson String Configuration: 6 String Body Type: Dreadnought Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Dexterity: Right-Handed Model Year: 1976
This is a very clean Gibson Mk-72 by Norlin guitar with the original Gibson case. I believe it is a 1976 model. The guitar is a one owner type of guitar. The pickguard was never attached and it is included in the case for you. There are a few tiny indents on the top. There is some light surface scratching where the pickguard would be placed. The back and sides are super clean.I just had the guitar professionally set up and she plays beautifully.
Between 1975 and 1978, Gibson produced the Mark series of flattop acoustics which were designed by Michael Kasha and Richard Schneider. These steel-strings had a 16 3/16-inch wide body and were narrower at the waist than a normal dreadnought. Some innovative features offered with the Mark series were a modified fan-pattern bracing style, an asymmetrical bridge, a removable pickguard, and interchangeable saddles. The MK-72 specifically used Rosewood for its back and sides, black binding, and a three-piece ebony/rosewood/ebony fingerboard. Years of Production: 1975 - 1978Body Style: Small waist dreadnought Wood Composition: Rosewood back and sides, three-piece Ebony/Rosewood/Ebony fingerboard, Spruce topDesign Elements: Fan-patterned bracing, asymmetrical bridge, removable pickguard, interchangeable saddles, black binding
