Selling my 1960's Gibson RB-170 open back! This is the banjo-model that Steve Martin so highly speaks of - it has such a sweet sweet tone, you'll instantly fall in love. This is the sought after/limited production standard scale model - not the long neck RB-175!She's been my workhouse banjo for quite some time and she shows it! She's been around the world and been loved/played daily for many years. Lots of aging/wear from use, but nothing that won't polish or clean off (if you chose). The bracket hooks have a very heavy natural patina to them. I love the way they look, but if you like bright chrome you'd probably want to replace or polish them. There are NO structural issues - no cracks, chips, bends or brakes etc. Just normal wear! %100 setup with beautifully low action. If you're looking for a pristine collectors piece, you might be able to get her shiny and new lookin'. But as is she's a players banjo.-classic Gibson quality - unparalleled construction -adjustable mahogany neck-Brazilian rosewood fret board -3 ply maple rim w/ walnut stain-Dual coordinator rode-24 Brackets -11 head (feels like a mix between a frosted and a ren. I was told it was the original so I left it)-half moon bridge I'll ship the banjo in a sturdy durafoam case with extra interior padding and have it professionally (UPS) packed and insured. Not taking any chances, this banjo needs a new home and needs to get there safely.
