The BB75 five-string bass is Carvin's first-ever signature model instrument, and is the result of the combined efforts between Carvin and top session jazz player and CAB bassist, Bunny Brunel. First introduced in 1992, the BB75 has proven popular with 5-string bassists that want a contemporary design, superior balance and unsurpassed playability. In late 2008, the BB Series underwent a design change - working with Bunny Brunel, the upper horn was reshaped, with the cutaway being reduced by 1/2", and the horn thickness increased by 1/8". This adds a few ounces of additional mass near the center of gravity of the instrument, which improves the balance while maintaining the unique look of the bass. The BB75 active bass is built to the highest possible standards with features found only on high-end and boutique basses, without the boutique price. The BB75 is more than just a great looking, great playing bass - it's a work of art that you'll be proud to play and own for a lifetime. The BB75 features an alder body with an asymmetrical maple neck-through design. Alder is a high-quality tone wood used by many manufacturers because of it's relative light weight and and fine resonating tone and upper midrange definition. It's slightly darker in color than maple, which accentuates the BB75's maple neck. Alder also has a subtle and attractive grain that looks great in any of A 34" scale ebony fingerboard with offset white pearl dot inlays, a 14" radius and 24 medium-jumbo nickel frets is standard. The electronics consist of Carvin J9A alnico single coil pickups with our 18V active/passive electronics module.
