Radical points and legendary curves crafted from mahogany tie in to the great SGs of the ’60s From scream to purr, crunch to croon, the 57 Classic humbuckers do it all Gold Sideways Vibrola tailpiece Mahogany neck and a rosewood fingerboard 5 ply black and white pickguard Black top hats knobs The foundation is set by a mahogany body and neck, plus a rosewood fingerboard with frets over binding and traditional trapezoid inlays. The SGS3 features 3 pickups which are the 57 Classic, 57 Classic and the 57 Classic Plus providing that pure Gibson tone. Many consider these humbuckers to be the Holy Grail of the “true” Gibson sound. The ’57 Classic has a special Gibson Alnico II magnet, vintage enamel coated wire, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers and vintage-style, two-conductor, braided wiring – all true to form, with optional gold-plated covers, nickel-plated covers, or open coils. They are marvelous in both positions, or can be balanced out with a different model like the ’57 Classic Plus. A chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and Gold Sideways Vibrola partner with vintage tuners to lock it all down in classic style and the SGS3 comes protected in an elegant brown hardshell case.
