Antigua Burst Finish
Electric GuitarUsed - Good Condition The Antigua burst finish was re-introduced in 1977 and had previously been used 10 years earlier for Fender's Coronado semi-hollow body guitars. Referred to as "Moon Burst" and "Spew Burst", the Fender Antigua finish has a unique charm that is overflowing with '70s mojo! Add that to the really cool checking and aging in the finish, and you have a Fender Strat that has some stories to tell! When this beauty arrived in our shop, the frets were pretty worn, however our professional guitar tech has done some work on them and now this vintage axe plays like a dream is ready to tell some more stories! This '79 Strat is all original except for the brass nut and the strap lock buttons that are on it. If you've been looking for a vintage Strat, then this is the one you don't wanna let slip by. Cosmetic and Functionality DescriptionBody: come with an orignal Pooh Bear sticker!; the finish on the body has some really cool checking and discoloration/aging that make this Strat really stand out; other noticeable marks, scratches (moderate buckle rash), dings, and chips can be found on the top, back, and sides, but this Fender wears its scars well!; the pickguard has some obvious wear, discoloration, scratches, and chips in the finish too; the pickguard has slight "hump" below the pickups next to the knobs; the tremolo cover has some scuff marks and scratches on itNeck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the brass nut is not original; the fretboard shows some obvious wear along the edges and some noticeable chips, dings, and scratches in the lacquer; the neck has some obvious chipping in the lacquer, mostly along the treble side of the walnut stripe, plus some scratches and dings can be found on the neck as well; the headstock shows similar wear as the neck as well as some dark spots of discolorationAction and Playability: the action is about medium and the neck is straightFrets: extremely light wear thanks to our professional guitar techHardware: the tuners show heavy wear in the plating, although the buttons like nice and shiny, but have a little bit of pitting in them; the bridge and tremolo arm have some noticeable wear in the plating and the screws for the bridge show a little bit of rust (though not pictured, the black tip for the tremolo arm is included); the jack plate and the neck plate both show some scratches on them; the strap lock buttons on this guitar are not original and are in fantastic conditionElectronics: the Dimarzio bridge pickup is not original; all pickups, knobs, and selector switch function properly although the selector switch is a bit stiff
